Andrew Sage (Andrewism)
1990s– · Anarchism online
Solarpunk is a program, not a mood.
A Trinidadian educator who makes video essays for a generation that met anarchism on YouTube, Sage argues for a freedom that is practical: degrowth, mutual aid, community production and a culture that does not need a ruler to function. His channel Andrewism has introduced thousands of people to the idea that a stateless society is something to build, not merely something to believe in.
Why it matters for freedom
He turns anarchism into a project a young person can begin today, which is how a tradition stays alive.
Who they stood against
the growth economy, the colonial assumptions of mainstream environmentalism, and the fatalism of the online left
